Animation fans in Los Angeles are in for a treat. Next week, Animation Breakdown, a monthly animation screening series based out of LA's Cinefamily, is hosting the world premiere of animation collective Late Night Work Club's long-awaited Ghost Stories, an anthology of animated shorts “wrought by the devil himself.” The event kicks off at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29.

A “scrupulously hand-picked” collective of independent, non-commercial animation artists, LNWC was conceived from the nocturnal Twittersphere communions of several indie auteurs — some established cult faves, some up-and-comers — as an effort to bridge a gap in their own output and the animation community at large.

After numerous global video chats (most of the collective’s members have never met) and tireless labor, LNWC proudly presents its first project: a macabre mélange of cryptic tales that promises to make you laugh, cry and scream.

Films include: Dave Prosser – I Will Miss You Charles Huettner – The Jump Sean Buckelew – The American Dream Ciaran Duffy – Ombilda Conor Finnegan – Asshole Scott Benson – Last Lives Jake Armstrong and Erin Kilkenny – Mountain Ash Louise Bagnall – Loose Ends Eamonn O’Neill – Post Personal Alex Grigg – Phantom Limb – and More!
