Chris Del Conte Joins Prime Focus World

Prime Focus World, an industry-leading 2D to 3D conversion and VFX studio, announced that Emmy Award winner Chris Del Conte has joined the company as Managing Director, Los Angeles.

Los Angeles, CA, – Prime Focus World, an industry-leading 2D to 3D conversion and VFX studio, announced that Emmy Award winner Chris Del Conte has joined the company as Managing Director, Los Angeles. He joins Prime Focus from Technicolor where he held the title of Executive Producer for their 3D division, overseeing conversion projects including DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda (2008).

In his new role, Del Conte will oversee all aspects of the Prime Focus Los Angeles office including View-D stereo conversions, as well as pre-visual and visual effects production services based in LA. He will report directly to Terry Clotiaux, Prime Focus’ President of Production, who made the announcement today.

Del Conte previously worked at Prime Focus from 2008 to 2010 as a Senior Producer where he was instrumental in the "Op's Center" sequences of James Cameron’s visually stunning Avatar and also produced the 3D conversions of Cats and Dogs 2 and Prime Focus’s first 3D conversion, Clash of the Titans.

In 2006, he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Graphic Design for FOX’s Super Bowl XXXIX Opener and also received a nomination in 2007 for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special for HBO’s Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee. Chris started his career in 1995 working at Amblin Imaging, Steven Spielberg’s VFX company, before going to Cinesite where he worked on Titanic and Space Jam. Other film and television VFX producing credits include The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions at Centropolis Effects, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Smith, ABC’s “Lost”, Talladega Nights, and Live Free or Die Hard for Digital Dimension.
