London, UK -- Award winning animation studio Beakus announced that its new 52X5'animation series Toggle has been pre-bought by CBeebies for launch in 2015.

Toggle is an inventive, unique and fun series with a bright eye-catching design. It’s about a trio of young, creative creatures – the Toggles - who live together in a big forest and have fun playing and exploring. To help them solve everyday problems they create a new character by combining colourful shapes they find in the magical ‘Toggle Top’ (a wide open glade that’s their canvas for creative play). Full of imagination and brimming with charm, Toggle mixes creativity with adventure in equal measure.

Toggle has been conceived by Leigh Hodgkinson and Steve Smith. Leigh is a published children's book author and illustrator whose titles include Limelight Larry, Smile and Goldilocks and Just the One Bear. She is also an award winning animator and was Art Director on the first series of Charlie and Lola. Steve is a highly experienced animation director and producer whose work has garnered awards around the world including a BAFTA, a British Animation Award and Annecy Crystals. He runs the animation production studio Beakus which recently created the animation for the first short form series of CBeebies show Numtums.

Also on-board are Fonic, the sound designers for Peppa Pig, and Emmy award-winning composer of The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That, Mike the Knight, and Charlie and Lola, David Schweitzer.

Union Media has been appointed as the international distributor for Toggle.

Toggle has received a Letter of Comfort from the British Film Institute that it will qualify for the new UK tax credit for animation production and was selected for the MIPJunior Licensing Challenge.

Beakus is a London based independent animation production studio which has scooped a host of awards for its eye-popping motion graphics and animation. It has a diverse range of clients from CBeebies and Nickelodeon to Google and McCann Erickson.

Union Media is a new international distribution business founded in 2012 by Adam Selly, following many years in the industry in senior positions at HIT Entertainment, Entertainment Rights and LazyTown Entertainment. It represents a growing slate of new animation series for broadcast and licensing rights worldwide.

Jackie Edwards of CBeebies, "We’re delighted to be working with Beakus on this distinctive and inventive show – this adventure in creativity is sure to delight and inspire our audience."

Steve Smith of Beakus, "Leigh and I are thrilled to receive the CBeebies seal of approval for Toggle. The show speaks to pre-school children without ignoring their parents, encouraging creativity and interaction, and we can't wait to start production!"

Adam Selly of Union Media says, “I am very happy to be adding this beautiful and original new show to our growing roster of high quality new animation series. I am sure it is going to prove to be a huge success around the world.”
