Top winners at festival’s 25th edition include ‘The Game Catchers’ for Best Preschool TV Series; ‘Mila’ for Best Short Film; and Cartoon Saloon’s ‘The Wolfwalkers’ for Best Feature.
The 25th edition of Cartoons on the Bay, the international television and cross-media animation and children's TV festival, has announced its Pulcinella Award winners. The event is promoted by Rai and organized by Rai Com with the artistic direction of Roberto Genovesi.
The winners of the 2021 Pulcinella Awards are:
- Best Preschool TV Series: The Game Catchers (Rai Ragazzi, Studio Bozzetto)
- Best Upper Preschool TV Series: Nina & Olga (Rai Ragazzi, Enanimation, Mondo TV Producciones Canarias)
- Best Kids TV Series: Gigablaster (Gloob, Copa Studio, Estricnina Desenhos Animados)
- Best Interactive Multimedia Work: Little Nightmares II (Tarsier Studios)
- Best Live/Hybrid TV Series Award: Whatsanna (KidsMe srl)
- Best TV Series Pilot Award: AquaTeam - Sea Adventure (Rai Radiotelevisione Italiana, GraFFiti Creative)
- Best Short Film Award: Mila (Rai Ragazzi, Pixel Cartoon, IbiscusMedia, Cinesite, Aniventure)
Winners In the Feature Films section:
- Best Film: The Wolfwalkers (Cartoon Saloon)
- Best Film Direction: Trash (Al One)
- Best Animation: Absolute Denial (Bridge Way Films, Absolute Denial Films)
- Best Script: Felix and the Treasure of Morgäa (10th Ave Productions)
- Best Soundtrack: Yaya and Lennie - The Walking Liberty (Mad Entertainment, Rai Cinema)
The UNICEF Award was awarded to the Swiss production Only a Child (Amka Films Productions).
