Cartoon Art Museum to Host Edward Gorey Birthday Party

The Cartoon Art Museum Bookstore will host a special event in celebration of the anniversary of Edward Gorey’s birth on February 22.

San Francisco, CA -- World renowned author and artist Edward Gorey (1925-2000) was born on February 22, 1925.  In celebration of the anniversary of his birth, the Cartoon Art Museum Bookstore will host a special evening of Gorey-themed entertainment.  Cakes and refreshments will be provided, and visitors will enjoy mysterious interpretations from the Fantod Deck; joyous readings from Gorey’s unique books; and a SPECIAL presentation by Gorey’s New England neighbor and fellow playwright Carol Verburg.  

Ms. Verburg will be signing copies of her books Edward Gorey Plays Cape Cod and Croaked: An Edgar Rowdey Cape Cod Mystery. This event takes place on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm, and is free and open to the public.
