Carl's Jr. Gets Schwifty with Adult Swim’s ‘Rick and Morty’

New 30-second spot for Carl's Jr. and Hardees is created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland with assistance from creative agency 72andSunny.

Fans of Adult Swim's hit series Rick and Morty might be salivating for Season 3, but in the meantime they'll have to settle for the first-ever commercial featuring the title characters.

A new 30-second ad for Carl's Jr. and Hardees captures much of the chaos that makes Rick and Morty so much fun. Series creators Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland created the spot, assisted by creative agency 72andSunny and media firm Initiative.

In the commercial, mad scientist Rick busts into his grandson Morty’s room in the middle of the night for a fast-food parade. Morty is predictably apoplectic, because who wants to be rousted out of bed by a thieving Tex Mex Bacon Thickburger?

The new ad marks the second collaboration between Adult Swim and the restaurant chain. Last fall Carl Brutananadilewski from Aqua Teen Hunger Force stripped down to a mankini and did his best Paris Hilton imitation while washing down his sweet ride, 2Wycked:
