Cambridge Animation Bringing Animo To Mac OS X

Cambridge Animation Systems has announced Animo for Mac OS X, Apple's next-generation operating system. Animo integrates 2D and 3D animation for development of feature films, animated television series, commercials, games and multimedia projects. "Mac OS X's UNIX-based foundation, advanced Internet features and stunning graphics capabilities make it an ideal platform for digital animation production," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of worldwide developer relations. "Animo is a great 2D cartoon software package and we are delighted that Cambridge is joining the growing list of developers bringing popular applications to the Mac OS X." Scheduled for release later this year, new versions of Animo for Mac OS X will offer the same functionality as their counterparts running on Windows and IRIX operating systems. Users will be able to seamlessly exchange files among Animo systems running on the three major computing platforms. Cambridge Animation Systems is the exclusive developer of Animo software, as well as Inkworks, Swiffworks and other 3D animation plug-ins.
