Call for Entries: The NFB’s 13th Hothouse Edition

Six new talented artists will be selected for an intensive three-month paid apprenticeship aimed at reimagining ways of making animation; deadline for submissions is October 4.

The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) is seeking submissions from animation creators for the 13th edition of Hothouse. The Hothouse program provides a three-month paid apprenticeship in all-inclusive, real-world animation filmmaking in the tradition of NFB animation. Applicants who are willing and able to jump headfirst into this intensive experience are invited to apply; six will be selected to participate.

The program is focused on reimagining ways of making animation—ways that are faster, more flexible and which embrace the many possibilities in the animation process while maintaining creative and technical excellence.
