Call for Entries: Anim’est International Animation Film Festival

Oscar-qualifying event in Romania seeks features, shorts, student films, music videos and children’s films.

The 13th edition of Anim’est International Animation Film Festival will take place from Sept. 28 to Oct. 7 in Bucharest, Romania, and the deadline for submission is June 20.

The fest is open for submissions of short or feature animated films produced after Jan. 1, 2017, which could fit one of six competition categories:

  • Feature film
  • Short film
  • Student film (graduate or undergraduate)
  • Music Video
  • Romanian short film
  • Minimest (children’s film)

Winners receive trophies and prize money, while the recipients of the Anim’est Trophy will be eligible for consideration in the animated short film category of the Academy Awards without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the academy rules.

Anim’est is the only Oscar-qualifying film festival in Romania, and it is also a partner of EMILE Awards, the European Animation Awards.
