‘Calimero’ Off to Strong Start on France’s TF1

New CG animated series confirms growth in its third weekend.

Vincennes, France-- Since its launch on February 9th on TF1’s children’s block TFOU, Calimero seems to have conquered the hearts of children 4-10, achieving an average audience share over three Sundays of 35.8 percent.

These results are confirmed on TF1’s digital media, where Calimero ranked as the third favorite hero on tfou.fr in just two weeks.

Calimero is a loveable little black chicken that was initially created in 1963 by Nino Pagot, Toni Pagot and Ignazio Colnaghi and became an international hit with 290 episodes of animation aired in over 80 countries.  In addition to TF1, the new CGI series is set to air on Italy’s RAI, Germany’s Super RTL, Disney Junior, TV Tokyo, Tele Quebec and TSR in Switzerland. Gaumont Animation (formerly Alphanim) co-produced the series with rights-owner Calidra, Italy’s Studio Campedelli ,and Japanese partners TV Tokyo and Kodansha. Gaumont Animation distributes the program and manages the brand internationally (excluding Asia) on behalf of Calidra.
