A Monsterous Holiday

Kids’ and family entertainment content distributor CAKE announced an agreement with Cartoon Network US for two more seasonal specials – A Monsterous Holiday and The Naughty List.

Following last year’s deal for the Halloween based Dear Dracula and Festive Abominable Christmas; Cartoon Network US was keen to snap up the second set of 45’ films from Producers Kickstart Productions and Arc Entertainment.

A Monsterous Holiday follows Andy and his dreams of being a great inventor, but he’s having trouble coming up with a “big idea” that will win the Science Fair when his Dad pressures him into joining the football team. Andy decides to ask the town’s resident scientist, Dr. Frankenstein, for advice, but instead he meets a green football-loving teenage monster named Frank. Andy realizes that he and Frank may just be able to solve each other’s troubles by switching places, and his plan goes smoothly until suddenly they’ve got a monster problem on their hands that threatens the entire town.

The Naughty List

While up on the North Pole for The Naughty List, Snowflake’s mischief-loving brother Winter goes too far with a prank, and they both get stuck on the Naughty List, doing a seemingly never-ending list of chores for Santa. Along with a spunky young reindeer named Sparkle, they try to make up for Winter’s misdeed. As they start to feel like they might never get off the Naughty List, Winter’s inability to follow the rules put the North Pole in a serious jam, right before Santa’s big night. Suddenly Christmas needs to be saved and there’s nobody else who’s up to the task. It’s up to the trio of mischief-makers to save the holiday and make Santa proud.

Produced by Kickstart Productions and Arc Entertainment, each short film features a host of well-known voices including Drake Bell (Superhero Movie), Brooke Shields (Hannah Montana), Naya Rivera (Glee), Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo), Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings), Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), and Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights).

Edward Galton, CCO and Managing Director, CAKE said, “We’re thrilled to be working with Cartoon Network once again on these specials. Last year Dear Dracula and Abominable Christmas were very successful for Cartoon Network so I have no doubt that A Monsterous Holiday and The Naughty List will perform really well for them. ”

A Monsterous Holiday and The Naughty List will be just some of the brand new titles CAKE are promoting at this year’s MIPCOM. Alongside them will be pre-school offerings Wanda and the Alien, Trunk Train, Ella Bella Bingo and Space Racers. Plus a brand new season of mayhem with Total Drama All Stars.
