Prolific creator of such shows as 'Fairly OddParents' and 'Danny Phantom' Butch Hartman has left Nickelodeon after 20 years.

Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom and Bunsen is a Beast creator Butch Hartman has announced he has left Nickelodeon after more than 20 years at the company.

In an online video posted on his YouTube channel, Hartman says his last day at Nick was Feb. 2. In explaining the move, Hartman says there was no ill will and circumstances made it the right time for him to leave.

“I never had a job this long at one place,” Hartman said. “I must tell you I've had the time of my life at Nickelodeon. I've never been disappointed. I've never been let down. I've been treated extremely well by everybody there.”

Hartman says he plans to continue to make animation and develop shows for his online Noog Network or for traditional TV networks. He also will continue to work on Noog and has plans for sketchbooks and books.

Hartman continues by saying he has many projects in the works, few of which he’s able to discuss due to contracts, but he is developing a show called Elf Detective that may go online or to a TV network, and a previously announced deal to create three shows for the online outlet pocket.watch.
