The Bugs Are Back -- Erky Perky Season 3 In Pre-Production

The 3D animated children's series ERKY PERKY is in pre-production for a third season. The (26x11) episodes will again be a co-production from Ambience Ent. of Australia and CCI Ent. of Canada.

Season three of ERKY PERKY follows the hilarious adventures of two bumbling bugs on the hunt for food in and around an uncomfortably clean kitchen, but the two little bugs are now a little wiser to the ways of their nemesis Mad Margaret and her crew.

Ambience Ent.'s Head of Animation, David Webster, will again direct the production. Webster, who was the co-creator and director of the first two seasons, said the characters will be voiced in Canada using scripts by a team of Australian writers.

"We're really looking forward to a third series of this exciting kids' series," Webster said. "We've developed a great animation style for the show and have learnt what really works for the audience. Erky and Perky are great characters and we're looking to raise the level of antics to even greater heights in these brand new episodes."

The colorful 3D animation will again be undertaken by Sydney based postproduction and visual effects house the LaB Sydney.

The quality of the series has been recognized by the children's television community with two nominations from season two, one for Best Animated Series at the 2008 Banff Rockie Awards and the other for Best Fictional children's series 7-11 at the 2008 Prix Jeunesse International. This achievement follows on from the continuing sales of ERKY PERKY (78x11) to TV2 Denmark, Sopresa in the U.S., SRC in Canada and HBO Asia.

Season three will be seen on Channel 7 in Australia starting in late 2009.
