British Animation Awards Nominees

With categories like Best Animation on the Cutting-Edge, Best Music Video and Best Student Film, the British Animation Awards (BAA) honor all aspects of the U.K. animation scene, from student work to commercials, children's entertainment to short and experimental films. This year the BAA introduced two new award categories: International Award for Best Short, and an award for Best European Animated Feature. Among the nominees competing is the 2000 Animated Short Oscar-winner Michael Dudok de Wits FATHER AND DAUGHTER with three nominations for Best Short Film, Best Scenario and Best Craft. Producers Cosgrove Hall picked up three nominations for their series ALBIE, ROTTEN RALPH and BILL AND BEN. Cartoon Networks THE CRAMP TWINS is in the running for Best Childrens Series and Aardman Animation's CHICKEN RUN is looking for a win in the new category of Best European Animated Feature. The awards night will be held at the National Film Theatre in London on Friday, March 15, 2002. View the full list of BAA 2002 nominees.
