Bridging The Gap Animation Lab Calls for Entries

Organization offers scholarships for young animators and students.

Bridging the Gap (BTG) announced a call for entries for projects to participate in its third annual international animation lab, to be held July 16-22 on the Spanish island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. The lab aims to help students get started in the animation industry and create international partnerships and networks.

The program is open to young professionals and students with an animated feature film or a series in pre-production, development or production. Short films with the potential to become a feature film or a series also qualify. In total, 12 projects will be selected to participate in the lab, which will include activities like conferences and personalized consulting meetings given by industry vets.

Participants will also be eligible for one of the three scholarships offered to candidates from Latin America and the Caribbean, North Africa and the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa plus the Philippines. These scholarships cover course registration, accommodation and meals during the course, as well as the flight to Tenerife.

BTG will also offer a full scholarship for one participant from areas not included above and one for a Spanish participant. In addition, two scholarships will be granted to participants from the island of Tenerife.

Students can also register for the course for 1,500 Euros, which includes tuition, accommodation and meals during the workshop.

The deadline for entries is April 24. More information, including the program’s rules and regulations is available here.
