Box Office Report: 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Spins $341M Worldwide

Marc Webb's “Amazing Spider-Man” had a six-day domestic opening of $140 million, earning $201.6 million overseas for a worldwide total of $341.2 million.

Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man ensured a new future for the Sony franchise with a six-day domestic opening of $140 million. Overseas, the 3D reboot has earned $201.6 million for a worldwide total of $341.2 million. Opening Tuesday in North America, Amazing Spider-Man grossed $65 million for the weekend itself, the third best three-day number of summer outside of The Avengers and Brave.

Amazing Spider-Man topped the international chart over the weekend with $129.1 million, followed by 20th Century Fox's Ice Age: Continental Drift, which earned $80.6 million in its second weekend out for a foreign total of $198 million. Ice Age 4 opens July 13 in North America.

Seth MacFarlane’s raunchy comedy Ted, starring Mark Wahlberg, came in second place at the domestic box office over the holiday weekend, earning $32.6 million for a 10-day total of $120.2 million. The Universal feature is well on its way to crossing the $200 million mark.

In third place, Disney and Pixar’s Brave brought in $20.2 million on its third weekend out for a total of $174.5 million. The animated feature is all-but-assured to be Pixar's 10th $200 million movie, and also helped Disney become the first studio to pass $1 billion at the domestic box office.

The Oliver Stone-directed Savages, from Universal, came in fourth on its debut weekend, bringing in $16.2 million.

In fifth place on its second weekend out, director Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike earned $15.6 million for a total of $72.8 million.

Tyler Perry's Madea's Witness Protection came in sixth, earning $10.2 million on its second weekend out for a total of $45.8 million.

DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted came in seventh place on the domestic box office charts, earning $7.7 million on its fifth weekend out for a domestic total of $196 million.

3D concert documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me, from Paramount, debuted at number seven with a soft $7.2 million.

At eighth place, Moonrise Kingdom made $4.6 million on its seventh weekend at the domestic box office for a total of $26.9 million.

Rounding out the list at number 10, Woody Allen’s To Rome with Love brought in $3.5 million on its third weekend at the box office, earning Sony a total of $5.6 million.
