The ‘Blue Blur’ Returns: Netflix Drops ‘Sonic Prime’ Trailer and Art

The speedy hedgehog returns to hold the fate of the multiverse in his gloved hands; all-new 8-episode 3DCG series streams in December.

Netflix has released a trailer, images, and a poster for the new eight-episode 3DCG animated series, Sonic Prime, featuring the return of the “Blue Blur,” who goes into overdrive when a run-in with Dr. Eggman results in a literal universe-shattering event. The show debuts on the streamer December 15.

In the series, an incredible twist thrusts Sonic into a new adventure like you’ve never seen him before, where the fate of the multiverse rests in his gloved hands. Sonic’s adventure is about more than a race to save the universe from the evil machinations of his longtime nemesis Dr. Eggman and his army of badnik robots - it’s a race to save his friends, friends that he took for granted.

SEGA, Marza, and Wildbrain produce the show with animation by Wildbrain. It is executive produced by SEGA, Wildbrain, Man of Action, and Erik Wiese. The voice cast includes Deven Mack (Sonic); Brian Drummond (Eggman); Ashleigh Ball (Tails); Shannon Chan-Kent (Amy Rose); Adam Nurada (Knuckles); and Ian Hanlin (Shadow and Big the Cat).
