Bitfilm has released the first issue of its new BITFILM COLLECTION. It contains 12 groundbreaking digital animations, voted on the first ranks by the international audience of the Bitfilm Festival -- including all six winners of the Bitfilm Awards. Once a month, the digital film experts will select 12 films that they consider state of the art of digital animation.
Any sort of digital rights management which would limit the usage of the films has been purposefully eschewed. You may save the BITFILM COLLECTION to DVD and watch it as many times as you like. The target audience consists of fans of digital film culture in general, and especially of professionals in the film, advertising and media industry who need to keep track of new talents and new trends in digital animation around the world.
The BITFILM COLLECTION 0108 contains the Bitfilm Award winners OUR WONDERFUL NATURE (Germany/Israel, Bitfilm 3D Space Award), BEIRUT (Lebanon, Bitfilm FX Mix Award), ANTIVIRUS (Spain, Bitfilm Flash Award), A PERFECT LIKENESS (U.S., Bitfilm Mobile Award), RUSTY WHISPERS: DENNIS (U.K., Bitfilm Machinima Award), LIFEFORCE (Greece, Bitfilm Realtime Award) and six more films that were nominated for the Bitfilm Awards 2008.
All films are computer-generated, ranging from productions using 3D or 2D animation software, machinima films shot live in computer games or realtime demos that come to life by self-written code.
