Atlantyca Announces New Sales of ‘Geronimo Stilton’

Transmedia entertainment company Atlantyca Entertainment licenses the first two seasons of its popular animated series ‘Geronimo Stilton’ to Network 10 and Universal Pictures in Australia and New Zealand.

Milan -- Atlantyca Entertainment announced that it has licensed its popular animated series Geronimo Stilton Season 1 and Season 2 (52x23’ 2D HD) in Australia and New Zealand to Network 10 and Universal Pictures (Australasia) for the DVD distribution rights for both seasons. The deal was signed through Atlantyca’s agent Merchantwise. Network Ten will launch the series on Eleven commencing next month, July, in its 7 to 8 a.m. timeslot, Universal is set to release the DVDs of the two seasons commencing  September 2014.

Inspired by the popular book series of the same name, Geronimo Stilton the animated series centers on the life and adventures of the famous Geronimo Stilton -- head of a veritable media empire, erudite mouse, and klutz extraordinaire. The highly successful books are published locally by Scholastic with over 100 million copies sold world wide, an estimated 18 million copies have been sold in Australia to date, increasing yearly.

Season 1 and Season 2 have been sold in over 130 countries to leading broadcasters including RAI, France Television, M6, KIKA, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Channel 1 Russia, and Al Jazeera.

A trans-media entertainment company, Atlantyca Entertainment maintains Production & Distribution, Licensing, Publishing and Foreign Rights sales divisions. The company maintains and manages the IP rights for Geronimo Stilton brand and all of its franchises. Atlantyca is the co-producer of Geronimo Stilton the animated series, featuring the adventures of the most famous mouse journalist, whose Seasons 1 and 2 have been sold in more than 100 countries around the world. The animated series saw its first US premiere in September of this year with the release of the first Geronimo Stilton DVD by eOne Entertainment.

Atlantyca’s Production & Distribution arm has partnered with Imira Entertainment and Mondo TV with new broadcast and participation partners Rai Fiction (Italy), GD Animation Fund and RTVE (Spain) to commence production on the comedy adventure series Bat Pat the spooky animated adventure-comedy that proves the supernatural isn’t always evil, just misunderstood.  

The company’s distribution arm represents a growing library of entertainment properties for children which includes: Russia’s #1 animated series The Fixies, Taka & Maka (from Tik Tak Productions, Technotik and Giant Wheel Animation) for Europe, Malaysia, Singapore and Korea.

The company’s Licensing division manages the international licensing initiatives for all the Geronimo Stilton brands and all of its character spin-offs, in addition to being the appointed Italian licensing agent for such third-party owned properties as  Mouk, Le Little Prince, and Infinity Licensing ‘s  lovable fruit brand Funny Face.

Atlantyca’s Foreign Rights division is dedicated to securing sales of translation rights for the Geronimo Stilton books among many other properties they maintain rights to. In April 2011, the company expanded its publishing and IP operations with the acquisition of children's book producer Dreamfarm. In May 2011, Atlantyca launched Atlantyca-LAB, a division devoted to the 360° research and development of videogames, apps, content for and from the web.
