The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood is a California non-profit organization established over 35 years ago to promote and encourage the art and craft of animation. Since 1972, ASIFA-Hollywood has hosted an annual awards ceremony to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the art of animation. Additional programs include the establishment of an Animation Archive at the organization’s facility in Burbank, CA; an Animation Preservation Project that seeks out and rescues endangered cartoons and raises funds to preserve them on safety film stock; and an Animation Educator’s Forum dedicated to the preservation and promotion of animation through education.
With an ASIFA membership, there are screenings, events, festivals, special offers, networking and educational opportunities, and, of course, the Annie Awards. More importantly, being a member supports the animation community, continuing its effort to improve, sustain and grow the world’s foremost professional animation organization dedicated to promoting the art of animation and celebrating the people who create it.
