‘The Art of WolfWalkers’ Behind-the-Scenes Book Available November 10

Showcasing the craft and skill behind the Apple Original Film, ‘WolfWalkers,’ Charles Solomon and James Baxter’s new book features an afterword by the movie’s director Tomm Moore and co-director Ross Stewart.

The Art of WolfWalkers,” the official behind-the-scenes art book for Cartoon Saloon’s and co-producer Melusine’s stunning new animated fantasy adventure, WolfWalkers, will be available on November 10. Through exclusive commentary and interviews with the cast and crew, animation critic and historian Charles Solomon showcases the craft and skill behind the film’s detailed and imaginative 2D animation.

The book features a foreword by award-winning animator James Baxter and an afterword by Cartoon Saloon co-founder Tomm Moore, the film’s director, along with co-director Ross Stewart. Filled with exclusive hand-drawn sketches, paintings, interviews, and digital renderings, “The Art of WolfWalkers” gives fans an intimate look into the making of the film.

The Apple Original Film, WolfWalkers is about a young girl confronting something mysterious and unexpected in the wolfpack she and her father are hunting down. The film is being distributed domestically by GKIDS; produced by Cartoon Saloon and Melusine Productions, the film premieres December 11 on Apple TV+.

About the Authors:

  • Solomon is the author of more than a dozen books on the art and making of animated films and television specials, as well as a lecturer in animation at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He lives in Los Angeles
  • Baxter is the director of character animation at Netflix. He has worked on award-winning animated films such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Lion King, and How to Train Your Dragon.
