The team is really coming together! As previously announced, Eli Roth’s upcoming live-action Borderlands adaptation is landing quite the all-star cast, with Cate Blanchett on board as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, and Jack Black as Claptrap. Now joining this promising ensemble is 13-year-old The One and Only Ivan star Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina.
“Ariana is a spectacular new talent in cinema,” Roth said in a statement. “She has already worked with many of my close collaborators and everyone raves about her. She blew us all away in her audition, and I cannot wait to see her bring the wild, insane and unpredictable Tiny Tina to the big screen. She’s going to blow up on screen like one of Tina’s grenades.”
While the talented actress is no stranger to action and vulgar humor, having also appeared in A Bad Mom’s Christmas, Avengers: Infinity War, and Love and Monsters, Tiny Tina is a very adult character. It will be interesting to see how Roth depicts the unhinged spitfire: will he tone her down, or amp her up for age-inappropriate authenticity?
