Annecy, France -- The world’s longest-running and largest animation festival, Annecy, announced short film and TV selections for its 2013 edition, taking place this year June 10-15.

Chosen from among 2,461 submitted films, this year’s competition will consist of 52 shorts, 51 graduation films, 35 TV series and specials, 11 music videos, 23 commercial projects, and four educational/industrial films. Feature film selections will be announced in late April.

Short films, selected from over 43 countries, include 2D and 3D films, as well as animated painting, rotoscopy, sand and salt in what Annecy creative director Marcel Jean says “could be considered as a return to origins.” Twenty percent of this year’s film selections are by women filmmakers.

The complete program will be available at the beginning of May. For a full rundown of the selected films, visit www.annecy.org.
