Festival programming will include a retrospective screening dedicated to Claude Barras, Marcel Barelli and Isabelle Favez; festival runs June 13-18.
Annecy 2022 returns June 13-18, this year paying tribute to Swiss animation. In a nod to the rich cultural history of the art, the event will feature a retrospective screening as well as a historical overview dedicated to Claude Barras, Marcel Barelli and Isabelle Favez.
Festival artistic director Marcel Jean noted, “The Annecy Festival would like to thank the numerous Swiss institutions who collaborated on this tribute: Swiss Films, the Swiss Film Archive, Animatou, Fantoche, the Groupement Suisse du Film d’Animation (GSFA), and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU).”
Preceding every screening will be a trailer created in collaboration with Marjolaine Perreten from Nadasdy Film (Geneva) and Frederic Siegel from Team Tumult (Zurich). This project brings together two of the Swiss linguistic regions, French- and German-speaking. The directorial duo both had graduation films selected for competition at the Annecy Festival in 2016.
