Anime Series Battle B-Daman Makes U.S. Debut on Toon Disney & JETIX

It looks like everything old is new again as the popular Japanese animated series about marble-shooting, BATTLE B-DAMAN, makes its U.S. debut on April 2, 2005, during JETIX on ABC Family (8:00-8:30 am) and APRIL 3 on Toon Disney(9:30-10:00 pm), Hasbro plus is onboard to launch a toy line based on the show in the fall.

The series features people of the B-Daworld, who have been using B-DAMAN marble-shooters in sport since ancient times and centers on a headstrong boy, Yamato, who has been given Cobalt Blade, the most powerful B-Daman. Yamato must use Cobalt Blade to fend off the members of the evil Shadow Alliance in his quest to become the B-Daman champion.

BATTLE B-DAMAN is produced by d-rights Inc., which owns the BEYBLADE series that was also launched by the team of ABC Family, Hasbro and d-rights.

Hasbro, d-rights licensing agent for the brand in various countries, will launch a B-DAMAN toy line based on the property that has a rich 10-year history in Japan. Its Ready, Set, B-da-fire with Hasbros new B-DAMAN line, which plans to capture the excitement of marble-shooting, the strategy of trading card games, the skill and competition of sports and the fun play of traditional action figures.

Kids will be able to collect a wide variety of B-DAMAN marble shooters as seen in the animated series. Each B-DAMAN has different shooting attributes such as power, rapid-fire and accuracy. Kids can combine parts from multiple characters to customize their own B-DAMAN launchers for the 10 official tournament games seen in the show.

BATTLE B-DAMAN will air regularly on ABC Family weekend mornings at 8:00 am and Sunday evenings on Toon Disney at 9:30 pm during the networks JETIX high-energy programming block. Built on action, adventure, daring and humor, Jetix airs 57 hours each week on ABC Family and Toon Disney in the U.S.
