Animation Showcase ‘SVA Premieres’ Returns to Hollywood

SVA ushers in a new wave of animators, artists and filmmakers with Hollywood showcase and alumni networking opportunities.

NEW YORK -- Art and design college School of Visual Arts has announced they will present “SVA Premieres,” an animation and film showcase featuring a curated selection of work by recent graduates who represent a diverse range of viewpoints and artistry. The select group of artists will attend the event at The Academy’s Linwood Dunn Theater at the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study.

The event begins with a 30-minute animation spotlight at 7:00pm Thursday, June 1st, with the main program starting at 8:00pm. The program features the best film and animation projects from nine different college programs, highlighting emerging talent in directing, screenwriting, cinematography and editing through works that include live-action drama, documentary, hand-drawn and stop-motion animation and CG 3D and visual effects.

The new graduates will have the opportunity to visit local studios, including Disney TV, Titmouse, 6 Point Harness, NBC Universal, Buzzfeed and Deutsch to connect with industry professionals and SVA alumni.

Filmmakers and artists including Craig Gillespie, Yvette Kaplan, Lynn Shelton, Tom Sito, Crystal Moselle, Morten Tyldum and Ti West have all studied at SVA.
