Animated Superhero Movie Interests Spice Girls

Members of the iconic British group reportedly agreed at a recent reunion to participate in such a project.

The Spice Girls are reportedly interested in lending their voices and likenesses to an animated superhero movie.

If a Spice Girls animated movie is what you want -- what you really, really want -- then your wish is a big step closer to reality.

Variety reports that the five members of the influential and iconic 1990s pop group from the U.K. have signed off on their likenesses and voices to be used in an animated superhero movie in which each member will have a different ‘girl power.’

The group consists of  Victoria Beckham (“Posh Spice”), Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”) and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”). Formed in 1994, the group has sold more than 85 million records worldwide, making it the best-selling all-female group of all time.

The news comes after a high-profile reunion of the group in London to discuss new ventures, their first since performing during the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Variety cited a source close to the group as saying: “The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale. They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.”
