Angoulême International Technologies Forum Opens November 14

The 4th Angoulême International Technologies Forum/Cartoon Master, will kick off on Thursday, November 14, 2002, with a session on 3D character animation from Isaac Kerlow, Disney's Digital Production Director. The Forum will continue through November 16 and host representatives from major U.S. and European studios who will update participants on technological breakthroughs, which are changing the present field of animation production, especially in the field of feature films. Some last minute additions to the program include David Andrews from ILM, Karen Dufilho (former Pixar short films producer, now an independent), Guillaume Hellouin & Jean-François Bernard (Sparx*), Ben Morris (Framestore) and Bill Seneshen (PDI), who will take part in the 3D Production workshop taking place on November 14. On November 15, the European Feature Film workshop will give French animation company Xilam the opportunity to screen 6 minutes of its forthcoming CG feature, KAENA: THE PROPHECY, which will be in theaters April 2003. The Angoulême Forum will also host the world premiere of the animated feature LES TRIPLETTES DE BELLEVILLE (THE TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE), by Sylvain Chomet. Organised by Magelis, with support from Cartoon and the National Cinema Centre, the Angoulême International Technologies Forum aims to provide information to the world of animation and video game professionals, concerning both the technology itself and also its application modalities in terms of organization, creation, funding, productivity and training.
