At this weekend's U.S. box office, CHARLIE'S ANGELS held back the debut of Adam Sandler's LITTLE NICKY, which has the comedian playing the Devil's son. ANGELS kicked in another US$24.61 million. The sexy super-agent flick, with primary visual effects by Flash Film Works, has seduced $75.01 million in just 10 days. LITTLE NICKY, with primary visual effects by VisionArt, Pixel Magic and Rhythm & Hues, had to settle for second with a gross of $16.06 million. Having its release date pushed from the heavy effects laden summer, Warner Bros.' RED PLANET still had a disappointing debut in fifth. The Mars mission, with primary visual effects by Cinesite, Digital Domain, Rhythm & Hues and In Post, grossed only $8.72 million. In sixth, THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE clubbed $6.32 million. The Zen golf saga, with primary visual effects by PDI, dropped 43% from its opening weekend, bringing its cume to $20.9 million. Closing out the top ten, BEDAZZLED bewitched another $2.51 million. The soul selling comedy, with primary visual effects by Rhythm & Hues, has captured $34.63 million to date. LITTLE VAMPIRE just slipped out of the top ten to finish at #11 with a gross of $2.28 million. The Halloween hijinks, with primary visual effects by Santa Barbara Studios, have collected $12.97 million so far. In 17th place, the reissue of THE EXORCIST spun an additional $338,512. The horror classic, with digital clean-up by Pacific Title Digital, has possessed $39.24 million in its second run in theaters. ALMOST FAMOUS rocked in at #18, with a gross of $304,200. The 1970s ode, with primary visual effects by Manex and Pacific Title Digital, has only accumulated $30.95 million. In the 19th slot, CYBERWORLD 3D eye-popped audiences to the tune of $263,569. The Imax spectacle has drummed up $2.18 million thus far.
