Andy Serkis and Joe Letteri to Speak at RTX Austin 2017

Both the actor and the Academy Award-winning VFX supervisor for WETA Digital, respectively, will sit on the keynote panel and host an exclusive Q&A following an early screening of ‘War for the Planet of the Apes,’ their recent collaboration.

AUSTIN, TX -- Texas’ largest internet and gaming event, RTX Austin, has announced that actor Andy Serkis and WETA Digital’s Joe Letteri will appear on a special keynote panel at this year’s event, at 4:30 pm on Friday, July 7. The two mark the epic collaboration between performance capture acting and visual effects that make the current Planet of the Apes franchise so visually and emotionally stunning.

RTX Austin takes place at the Austin Convention Center July 7–9. RTX Austin will also host a special early screening of War for the Planet of the Apes at 7 pm on July 7th at the Paramount Theater. Serkis and four-time Academy Award-winning Senior VFX Supervisor Letteri will host an exclusive Q&A after the screening. The screening is free for RTX attendees, with priority admittance given to VIP pass holders.

Now in its seventh year, RTX draws over 65,000 attendees to the Austin Convention Center to play the newest unreleased video games, see top Internet celebrities in live shows and panels, and experience the best in gaming, animation, and entertainment.

Single day and weekend passes for RTX 2017 are still available, starting at $35.00. Children ages 6 and under get free admittance with a paying adult.
