Amazon Studios Seeks Short Films for Feature Development

Amazon Studios is now accepting short concept videos for feature development options.

Have an idea to pitch for a feature film? Amazon Studios’ open door for creators is widening to include short concept videos for development options. Beginning today, concept videos presenting a compelling idea for a commercial, theatrical feature film can be submitted and evaluated for a development option by Amazon Studios.

Hollywood’s creative community and talented filmmakers worldwide are invited to submit 2-15 minute videos to the Amazon Studios site. The process works just like script submission: Creators can submit publicly or privately with a 45-day option and evaluation period. Creators of projects added to the development slate will receive a $10,000 payment.

Amazon Studios has a first-look deal with Warner Bros. and promises $200,000 to creators if their projects are produced, with a $400,000 bonus if they top $60 million at the box office. The Amazon.com spin-off recently picked up five of its original TV pilots to series after launching its submissions program last year.
