ACME Network Announces Individual Memberships

Non-profit organization The ACME Network opens its award-winning online mentoring program to individual members worldwide.

Los Angeles, CA -- Non-profit organization The ACME Network announced that its award-winning ACME Animation online mentoring program is now open to individual members worldwide. Until now ACME primarily served students in school classrooms.

ACME Animation offers animation training and preparation for career-readiness in the creative industries via peer and professional mentoring of student media projects. Since 1995, the professional mentors have come from studios such as DreamWorks, Disney, Sony, and others. Students range from 13 years of age through college and beyond. ACME has served over 55,000 students since 2004, and over 1,000 students have obtained jobs in the creative industries. ACME is assessed by a third-party evaluator. Recent surveys find 93 percent of our participating high school seniors graduated. Teachers reported that 100 percent of their graduating ACME seniors are attending college; 93 percent will be attending a four-year college.

The organization has a long history of innovation and recognition. This year, ACME received the United States Distance Learning Association’s “21st Century Best Practice in Distance Learning Award” for excellence in distance education.

Pricing for an annual individual membership will cost $300 per person, with a 15 percent discount for a limited time. Members will have access to ACME’s online animation tutorials, its video library of pro tips and tricks, the community of peer mentors, and the ability to earn access to animation pros and to portfolio review sessions. ACME offers students and educators a curriculum focused on the fundamental principles of animation. In ACME’s Pay-It-Forward Community, students must offer constructive feedback to peers and upload artwork to earn access to industry professional mentors. All members are eligible to receive alerts for special events, webinars and opportunities relevant to their level of artistic and professional development.

"ACME’s industry connection is vital, and our relationships with studios and our network of committed volunteer mentors ensure that our online community offers a pedigree of mentoring excellence and the latest in professional standards and practices,” states Frank Gladstone, Artist in Residence and Industry Relations Director.

“For years, ACME fielded queries from individuals who did not have access to an affordable, reputable arts and animation program,” said Deborah Brooks, Executive Director. “We are very pleased that ACME can now open its doors to individuals.”

ACME continues to work with classrooms and schools and now, with the addition of serving individual students, ACME is even better able to fulfill our non-profit’s goal of advancing lifelong learning and career-readiness to this broader community. ACME offers discounted classroom pricing where matching grants are available.
