Bristol, UK -- Aardman has partnered with Trunki to produce its first-ever national television commercial and help bring their new Tropical PaddlePak range to life. The 2D animated advertising campaign directed by Aardman’s Tim Ruffle will hit screens across the UK this month.

Trunki MD, Rob Law comments “Working with Aardman has been every bit as enjoyable as you’d expect! Taking the plunge into children’s TV is always daunting, but when you’re working with some of the UK’s most talented animators, it definitely helps to put you at ease. We wanted to create something that would stand out to adults, whilst still appeal to our younger viewers, and drawing them into our underwater world.”

The 30 second advert will launch this Easter across a host of children’s TV channels. The first one appearing on the Nickelodeon channel on the 22nd March, then appearing on various channels from CITV to Boomerang to name a few until 7th April 2013. The 30-second ad will establish the PaddlePak characters as strongly as their ride-on counterparts. The visual style created by Aardman for the advert will be used for future Trunki marketing activity including online games, apps and events, scheduled very soon.

Heather Wright, Executive Producer at Aardman adds “It’s been a rare treat to work with a fellow Bristol company on a product that truly delivers which I like to think is a value we share!  I’m hoping we can work with them lots more in the future”.

The new tropical PaddlePak additions form the core of Trunki’s new Rainbow Range, available in 9 different colour ways from Ribbit the frog to Inky the octopus. Features include roll top closure, safety buckle fastening, water resistant fabric, adjustable shoulder strap, and external, tail pocket, padded mesh back and high visibility reflective straps.
