Aardman Celebrating 40 Years of Craft, Comedy and Characters

Anniversary events to include a commemorative Isle of Man Post Office stamp collection, ‘The Art of Aardman’ book from Simon & Schuster U.K. and an exhibition at The Illustration Cupboard gallery in London.

BRISTOL, UK -- Aardman is observing its 40th anniversary with a series of special events, exhibitions and merchandise to mark the occasion. The celebrations kicked off with an entertaining 40-day countdown to their official birthday date of the September 4th. Specially curated pieces of content have been made available to fans via the Aardman website. Each day, a classic clip, exciting behind the scenes video, interactive experience or some of Aardman’s lesser known work will unlock for audiences to enjoy.

Fans can get their hands on some very special products that are set to launch between now and the end of the year, including a commemorative Isle of Man Post Office stamp collection and gift products, as well as beautifully crafted Steiffplush ornaments of some of Aardman’s best-loved characters and The Art of Aardman book (Simon & Schuster UK), and a stunning collection of rarely seen drawings, storyboards and stills celebrating forty years of creative output from the award-winning film studio.

Later in September, animation and art enthusiast will also have the chance to own their very own original piece of Aardman art that is being exhibited and sold at The Illustration Cupboard gallery in London. An exciting array of original artwork from Aardman artists will be on show, including drawings and character studies of Wallace & Gromit by Nick Park and the inimitable Morph by Peter Lord. There will also be a specially produced sculpture of Morph on display and many other pieces.
