MACOM, NVIDIA and Wohler/Cinnafilm Joint Venture to receive Engineering Excellence Awards; the American Society of Cinematographers and DigitalFilm Tree to receive the HPA Judges Award for Creativity and Innovation in Post Production.
Tonight, November 6, the Hollywood Post Alliance will honor excellence in postproduction at the 9th Annual HPA Awards. Honors will be given in 12 craft categories including Color Grading, Editing, Sound, and Visual Effects for feature film, television and commercials.
The HPA Awards have become the standard bearer for excellence and innovation in the industry, honoring outstanding accomplishments in postproduction and recognition to the creative achievements of individuals and companies.
Tonight’s ceremony will be held in Los Angeles at the Skirball Cultural Center. Presenters include Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook, Face/Off, Alpha Dog); Arthur Forney (Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent); Lon Bender; Chris Baffa, ASC (Glee, Nip Tuck, Ashby); Dean Cundey, ASC (Back to the Future, Jurassic Park); Stephen Rivkin, ACE (Avatar, Blackhat).
Special awards will be presented to MACOM, NVIDIA, and Wohler/Cinnafilm Joint Venture -- recipients of the Engineering Excellence Award. The American Society of Cinematographers, and DigitalFilm Tree will receive the HPA Judges Award for Creativity and Innovation in Post Production. This year there are also two Lifetime Achievement Award honorees -- Alan Heim, ACE, and Randy Roberts, ACE.
