The 6th edition of Cartoon Movie will be held March 11-13, 2004, at Babelsberg fx.Center, in Potsdam, Germany. The unique event to support and promote European animation filmmakers is organized by the European Association of Animation Film, CARTOON (in collaboration with NFP Teleart in Germany), with the support of MEDIA Programme of the European Union and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH. The intimate conference is for professionals involved in the financing, production, distribution or the exploitation of feature films. It offers a complete panorama of European cartoon films at different stages of their production or ones that are already available. About 40 films will be presented this year looking for financings, co-production partners or national and international distribution.
Animated movies are on the rise in Europe, reflected in Cartoon Movie attendance, which has doubled since its creation. It attracted 461 participants in 2003, including 51 distributors and 61 investors. . Each year, the "Cartoon Movie Tributes" are designed to reward for the initiatives which contribute to the recognition and the success of the European animation cinema.
