’44 Cats’ Grows with Licensed Product and U.S. Streaming Options

The Rainbow Group inks new licensing deal with Forever Clever, increasing branded games and novelty toys in the U.S. and Canada.

Rainbow Group has expanded its licensing program for their popular kids’ series, 44 Cats. Having already scored Bandai, Harper Collins, Franco, Sakar, and Accessory Innovations among their licensees, a new deal with Forever Clever will provide additional licensing of games and novelty toys in the U.S. and Canada. The agreement, brokered by The Joester Loria Group and Branding Streams, will include a range of products such as action games, board games, card games, memory games as well as novelty toys and play tents.

Forever Clever joins an expanding licensing program that includes category leader licensees. Launched the end of March, HarperCollins released two new titles; 44 Cats: Meet the Cats and 44 Cats: Cats Rock! available at Target, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million.

The series, which debuted in November 2018, has enjoyed worldwide popularity. It premiered in the U.S. on Nickelodeon in June 2019 followed by the Italian debut of Season 2 in March 2020. Season 1 of 44 Cats is now available on Netflix. The show will land on free to air broadcasters later this year worldwide.

The CGI animated series (52 x 13’), aimed at preschoolers and children aged 4-7, is a mix of music and cuteness dealing with themes such as tolerance, diversity and altruism, while combining positive values, action and comedy. The show follows the adventures of Lampo, Milady, Pilou, and Meatball, four adorable kittens who are part of a music band named The Buffycats. The kittens work to help others, always finding creative solutions to everyday hitches.

The licensing programs are managed by licensing agents, The Joester Loria Group in the United States and Branding Streams in Canada.
