Writer's Bios


Giannalberto Bendazzi is a Milan-based film historian and critic whose book, Cartoons: One Hundred Years of Cinema Animation, was published in the US by Indiana University Press and in the UK by John Libbey. His other books on animation include Topoline e poi (1978), Due voite l'oceana (1983) and Il movimento creato (1993, with Guido Michelone).

Christian Clark is the Meena Project Coordinator for UNICEF in Katmandu, Nepal.

Harvey Deneroff, in addition to his duties as Editor of Animation World Magazine, edits and publishes The Animation Report, an industry newsletter, which has taken over operation of the annual Ojai Animation Conference.

Marcin Gizycki is a Polish art historian, art critic and former Editor-In-Chief for Animafilm magazine. He has taught at Rhode Island School of Design since 1988.

Wendy Jackson is a Sales Representative for Animation World Network. Previously employed as General Manager of the International Animated Film Society's Los Angeles chapter (ASIFA-Hollywood), she coordinated events such as the 1995 Annie Awards and the 1996 Animation Opportunities Expo.

Aleksandra Korejwo is a filmmaker based in Poznan, Poland.

Frankie Kowalski is Associate Editor of Animation World Magazine. She worked in marketing and public relations at IBM before pursuing her current career in animation journalism.

Neil McKee is the Senior Program Communication Officer for UNICEF's Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office based in Nairobi, Kenya.

William Mortiz teaches film and animation history at the California Institute of the Arts.

Linda Simensky is Cartoon Network's Director of Programming. Prior to Cartoon Network, Linda worked at Nickelodeon, as director of animation, searching for new projects as well as seeking out new creators. She is the President of ASIFA-East and the founder of the New York chapter of Women in Animation. Linda is also on the Board of Directors of Animation Journal.

Rita Street is the founder of Women in Animation and former editor and publisher of Animation Magazine, is now a freelance writer based in Los Angeles.
