Shiny new Showreel

You really like the rag doll move to your characters, it is an excellent clip.
I do have one question, what was she doing with that guys brain?

I'm glad you enjoyed it, I do have a tendency to go a bit overboard with the whole ragdoll thing, which means everybody ends up looking a bit drunk. Something I could probably do with making more subtle. As for the brain, the idea was she was popping it in her mouth to clean off all the gunk that had accumulated, pretty silly really.

loved the animation! how did you do your depth of field effects? Like the close up of the guy sitting on the ledge?

Thanks, Most of the shots have the background layers separated and then blur applied in after effects, either through 3D layers or manually with the gaussian blur effect. The shot of the guy on the ledge was similar but I animated the head and body on separate layers in order to do the focus pull on him as well. There are a couple of shots where part of the blur effect was done in photoshop as well for more precision.most of the shots in the reel are from my graduation film which I think i'm going to post the first part of at some point soon.
