how to composite 2d and 3d animation?

hi everyone, i was wondering how to integrate both 2d and 3d animation. i want to make a mini anime series on youtube and the software i'm using for it is photoshop( hand draw 2d characters frame by frame ), google sketchup for my backgrounds( buildings etc), blender for 3d animation and toon shading effects, after effects for camera movements and post work, premiere for editing, Audacity for voice recordings. I am still a beginner with the softwares but i can draw fairly well. so if you have any suggestions or advice please help, thank you.

How i want my series to look:

ergo proxy( anime series)

Makoto shinkai( i love how he integrates 2d and 3d but how?)

ghost in a shell( but not that detailed because i am working by myself, but the use of 2d and 3d)

thanks to any help

This is just a thought but you could build your 3D world and texture it with your 2D art work.

thank you, but can you explain that a little more? I only know a few things about my animation software.

Keep working with the software. If you have taken a class, use exercises from the class to learn more about your software.

I do not work with 3D so my thoughts are based on what I have read. Combining out put from different software will require you to know that software. Pick one and work on it until you feel you have some mastery over it.

Good Luck.

yea..i should learn the software first

I'll speak on ghost in the shell. since thats really the standard. the environments are done as 3d first then the characters are drawn on top of it. you should also look at blood the last vampire. the movie, not the series. the series is completely different from the movie
