Ethnic animations\animators

Hello everyone. I am new at this forum and obviously new in the world of animation too. I am studying graphic design and my final project probably will end up being some kind of animation about Easter Island (big stone heads in the south pacific). Half of my family is from there and i am looking a fun way to spread the Easter Island's visual imaginary. I wanted to ask you for some help, first of all I need to see how others animators have confront the Ethnic issues (sorry if my english is crappy, I am chilean, my language is spanish). In shorter terms i need to see animations about some interesting cultures , or with interesting technics, for example KIRIKOU, you know that one, I bet you do. It doesn't matter if they are short, senseless, nothing matters really. In fact anything that comes to mind with this I will take it as reference.

Please help me, I really need it and thanks for checking this out.

Look for places like iFilm, there are might be some stuff there.

bro'Town

Check out the Maori cartoon bro'Town:

They screened this in a local film festival here not too long ago. I missed the screenings, but heard that the cartoons were pretty good.

There was something I saw on the Net with Polinesian motives:

Also, try to look at National Film Board of Canada website, they had some films based on Native american and Inguin culture.

"Lilo and Stitch" might be a mainstream example of ethnic animation. There's also the film, "Whale Rider"....

Your English rocks...keep up the good work. Next up, Mandarin and Hindi!
