SP Effects launches online Maya classes

Surrealistic Producing Effects has launched 5 Maya based online training classes, ranging in length, from four to eight weeks. Each class is filled with the latest techniques, and taught by industry professionals. Subjects include Modeling photo realistic characters, texturing, cloth animation, and more. Several other classes are scheduled for release later this summer.

SP Effects offers a unique approach to its classes. Instead of following a class curriculum, students are encouraged to work on their own ideas, whether it’s a school assignment, paid job, or extracurricular project. The goal is to insure students get the most out of each class they take. Best of all, class time is flexible, offering multiple time slots to speak with instructors and a class forum. Once classes begin, students gain access to the SP Effects School. Here they can mix with other students, explore industry resources, and more.

“We believe people learn best when they are doing what they want to do. At SP Effects they not only get cutting edge instruction, but they get to complete a project of their own design. We want them to learn, not learn how somebody teaches. In a way, its the students who run the classes. We simply empower them,” said Lead Instructor Todd Palamar.

As part of a special promotion all classes are only $99 if you register before May 24, 2006.
