I know, most information is about the American or Japanese or even the NFB.

Aardman have a book, I think it's 'cracking animation'. Since they are Uk based, think you might find out more british based stuff in that. Also the book 'Animation Now!' as a big compendium of animation studios around the world, and includes work from studios and a short bit on them, any awards and animations they have made. It's a big book, but mainly because in each section the short desciption is in several different languages. :S

Just get a bunch of animation history books and pick out the European stuff.
