i just downloaded the MIPCOM newsletter of AWN and there seem to be a whole lot of shows being done in hdtv i didnt think there was that much of a demand

whats with the abundance of new HDTV series being made?
FFC mandated that all TV broadcasts in the USA must be in HD by 2010. I'm not sure about the date. So more shows are starting to go HD.

yeah, the date used to be 2005 and they keep pushing it back. it's hard to push a new technology so it really comes down to when the population accepts it as standard. although it's a good investment to switch shows to widescreen/hd right now so they're marketable in the future for reruns and video releases.
