influence of surrealism on mainstream animation

hi, im an animation student and im currently wrinting my dissertation. Im looking at the influence surrealism has had on mainstream animation and cartoons. This could also include the influence it had on hollywood. I was wondring if anyone here knew of any books or texts written on on the subject to help me with my research. any help will be appreciated. thanx!
