white screen in quicktime

when i export a movie as a .mov all it shows is a blank white screen with audio........ any ideas how to fix'???

Hello, Gabe. Make sure that before you export your movie to an MOV, that all your symbols are not movie clips. Set all your animated symbols' behavior to 'graphic' and make sure that the animation option is set to 'play once'. Oh, and if you are trying to export a Quicktime movie using a PC, it may not work that well because Quicktime works well on a Mac. Hope that helps.

Good advice, Sandrock. I'd like to add that the symbols that need to be changed are the ones on the stage, not necessarily the ones in the library. Changing a symbol's behavior in the library doesn't change the instance of that symbol on the stage - you have to go through and do each of them individually.

If you're only doing animation (and not web page stuff where you'll be using ActionScript), it's a good idea to stick to graphic symbols. The main feature of a movie clip is the ability to call it in code and affect it's behavior, something that's not really necessary in a linear animation.
