I have one year...

I have one year in high school left and I want to become a 3d animator.
Is there anything I should be doing now to ready myself for my career?
I try to draw as much as I can,I will be buying a computer and probably maya soon.I am going to take some art classes so what else should I study and work on?

Thanks.

I've got a foot in both worlds, so to speak...and from this place I can tell you you'd be wise to get comfortable using those drawing skills to do 2D as long as you can bear it, -then- pick up a computer, and cash in on all the expertise adjusting to using that new tool to demonstrate and grow your prowess. My personal advice, though, certainly nothing I'd blanket over everyone.

I'm not just telling you to get lost or anything. Just read through some of this thread and then ask some more questions. You are searching for information about where to go to school and what you need to do. That is a good start. Keep it up. Many people here are great resources for info about the industry and schools too.
