average pay for short?

just curious, what would be average pay for say someone animating a short 2 minute film in flash?, sorry thats pretty general but i dont know what other variables come into play

It really depends on alot of factors... your experience, number of characters, whether or not storyboards are included, yatta yatta yatta. The length of the animation is only one part of the equation when determining your quote.
