CelAction2D is designed to be easy to use yet is able to produce high-quality animation at a fast rate. Developed with the help of top animators and used on a variety of acclaimed productions, it produced the award-winning series The Big Knights by Neville Astley and Mark Baker, and is currently being used by several other leading animation studios in London. CelAction2D gives you the freedom to create commercials, films and television series to the professional broadcast-quality standard you want without the cost of traditional methods and without the difficulty of other animation software.
The British animation company Astley Baker Davies have been asked by the creators to lead a course in CelAction2D and are looking to start training at their Euston studio in November. Two of the most important things for company are to find out how many individuals want to study the software, and almost certainly get things moving as soon as possible.
The course will be led by Animation Director Joris van Hulzen who has been working with CelAction2D since its first commission on The Big Knights back in 1998. He was educated at Utrecht School of Arts in Holland and worked for two years before moving to the UK where he has since worked as a freelance animator in various London based studios. Most recently Joris has been working as Animation Director on Peppa Pig, a pre-school series made using CelAction2D, currently being shown on five and Nick Jr.
The course will be taught over 5 days and split into 2 modules. It will focus on both building a 2D CelAction model in the Assemble module and then animating the model in the Animation module. Students will be asked to put their theory into practice by individually setting up a project where they will learn some valuable tips and tricks from Joris along the way. And, by the end of the course they should have a complete project to take away.
