Lightbox

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find a lightbox for a reasonable price?

Thanks
Amy

Down here in Brazil the best solution for me was to build my own. We made some smaller portable light desks, who are still running firm after 3 years.

It's not hard and any carpenter can help you out. All you need to buy is the peg bars.

Tell me if you want to do so and I tell you more about my experience with custom made light tables...

Yes please, any help you can give me would be much appreciated. I have a home-made lightbox at the moment but am reluctant to use it as there are some minor problems with it.

ohh, I'm really interested in building my own lightbox too as I've been after one and there quite expensive here in England.

Any tips and advice would be great :) !!!

Hi, I'm in England too. I decided I needed a lightbox in the first year of university but they were very expensive and hard to come by. My uncle built me one...it started life as a deep wooden drawer...ha ha ha. Not the best lightbox in the world, but it got the job done. I'm looking for a proper one now though.

Hi, where in England are you? I'm in London.

I know what you mean about them being really expensive. I've wanted one for ages (ever since I was at uni, and I graduated a year ago). Did you study animation at uni? Which one? :D

Yeah, I am also an animation graduate. I studied at the University of Lincoln (Hull campus). I am currently living in Essex. Where did you study? Have you had much luck with jobs since graduating?

I acually studied Graphic Design in Southampton (Im from Manchester). But I was always interested in animation, so I taught myself, with a few lessons from a senior animator.

I've been lucky to find design work, but I think it's really helped that I moved to London as there's more opportunity here. I'm also doing some freelance animation which I'm hoping is going to help me break into the industy.

How about you? Have you managed to find work? Are you mainly 2D? :)

I taught myself to animate when I was eight - my parents had just bought their first camcorder, so I animated a few piece (2D and Model). The idea and movement were there but, unfortunately, each image I captured lasted about 4 seconds.

I have a friend who studied graphics design at my uni. She's also from Manchester.

I'm doing a bit of freelance work myself...hoping that it'll get my work out their and allow me to develop my skills while I search for something else. It's my dream to work on a feature film.

oh, yeah, I specialise in 2D. I've been an artist since I as very young and have always drawn pictures, so it comes quite naturally to me. One of my mates is going to teach me CGI when he's not too busy with work. I think that CGI would be an exciting area to get into.
